Dee entered the real-time strategy space by way of the editorial world. Moving from the role of writer/editor, she began cultivating the audiences of the blogs she wrote for using new media channels and a more direct form of engagement, social media. A writer at heart, she's a natural conversationalist with a penchant for effectively communicating with changing audiences.
As a social strategist, Dee mixes a defined grasp of new media tools with strategic best practices to help brands better understand what social media is and how it can enhance their credibility and identity on the web. Through her work as a community manager, she assists in defining the tone and personality of brands; as well as igniting and strengthening the relationships with their consumers.
Responsible for overall social media at online women's community, SheSpeaks.com, Dee grew their digital presence drastically over almost two years. Her work included Facebook and Twitter-focused initiatives as well as integrated marketing/word-of-mouth programs. She worked to produce out-of-the-box ideas and strategies for brands like Rubbermaid, PepsiCo, American Express, and RoC.
Working with both small and large brands, creative and public relations agencies, Dee strives to create unique work with a dedicated attention to detail. Active within the social community, she covered Internet Week 2010 on behalf of the Ford Fiesta as a part of the Fiesta Funnel Team -- reporting live while she interviewed Pete Cashmore of Mashable and also chatted up Kelly Bensimon.
After spending five years in New York City, Dee left the 'concrete jungle' for warm and sunny Miami Beach. There she joined the social media and community management team at award-winning agency, SapientNitro. When she's not expressing herself in 140 characters, you can find her trying out a new recipe, spending time with her nieces and nephews, shopping, or diving into a new book.
